Carbon Footprint Calculator

Using this Carbon Footprint Calculator widget, you can easily calculate your carbon footprint and how much is the impact of your daily activities on our environment. A detailed article on carbon footprint has already been published and can be referred for understanding what is carbon footprint.

Here I am again going to explain briefly for people who do not want to go through our detailed article. Carbon footprint can be defined as the total amount of greenhouse gas emission caused by an individual, community or an organization. Calculating the carbon emissions is a difficult task though because of the requirement of enormous data. So this calculator will calculate your carbon footprint based on relative data aggregated from the past few decades of average emissions.

This calculator currently provides data for cities located in United States only. So if you live outside of United States, you will have to wait until the data for worldwide emission of greenhouse gases isn’t imported into the calculator. The calculator works on an algorithm that compares the data input by the user with the average data fed into the system and then output the user carbon footprint based on average emissions in user’s local area.

Use of this carbon footprint calculator is extremely easy. Follow the instructions and start entering your data into the calculator. Once you complete a page, switch to next tab and enter the information required. The summary tab of this carbon footprint calculator compare your emissions with the other individuals or households in your local area.
