Environmentalists in US sued the Navy wing of US Armed Forces over naval
training exercise off the West Coast which comes under “biologically
critical areas”. Naval exercise includes the use of Sonar which produces
intense sound waves and can harm or kill endangered marine animals such
as the killer whale and the blue whale.

Led by Earth-justice, the
environmentalists claim that the use of sonar is common in naval
exercise and they repeatedly broadcast high intensity sound waves into
open ocean. West coast is a biologically productive marine habitat and
the interference caused by human activity in this area can cause serious
ecosystem damage. The lawsuit was filed by the environmentalists on
Thursday, Jan 26, 2012.

Most of the animal species in the world are endangered due to human activities. We are heading towards an end.
